I am a qualified and registered architect and project manager. I have 20 years experience as a RAIA registered architect. My experience as a consultant covers building design, project management, documentation, budgets, presentation, interiors and landscaping. My clients have been private, government and corporate/private business backgrounds, and include Hobart Ports Corporation, Commonwealth Government, the Education Department, Catholic Education Office, and so on, as well as many private individuals. I have designed around 60 houses and extensions and worked on several schools and other commercial buildings.
I also have sales and retail experience, as well as good experience in the area of personnel/volunteers co-ordination and related programming, events facilitation, community liaison and fund raising.
I acquired qualifications in NatHERS allowing me to assess and rate homes for energy ratings as part of the legislative building approval process. I am currently co-managing this business.
I also have a certificate IV in Business Sustainability Assessment allowing me to audit business and commercial buildings with respect to thermal performance, and energy, waste and water management and savings.
I was born in 1970. I currently have two young children and work both in architecture, and manage energy assessments for my business Buildenergy.com.au, environmental audits, and am a Director in a landscaping and garden maintenance business Richea Landscapes Pty Ltd.

Work history
& experience
I started working in architecture in 1990, before I finished my degree. I achieved my registration qualification with the Royal Institute of Architects (RAIA) in Tasmania in 2002. In 2005 I became accredited (and still am)
with Detour Design under the Building Act 2000 with the Tasmanian Compliance Corporation. Worked as a contract architect with Detour Design full time from 1997 until 2008, when I took time off work to have a child. During that time I did some less demanding part time work, including with my partner in our landscaping business, Richea Landscapes Pty Ltd, with administration and design. I returned to work in architecture in 2010. I took another break when I had my second child in 2013, for 6 months. Whilst working part-time I undertook further training to become a Nationally accredited home energy assessor (NatHERS) and an environmental auditor (cert IV). I currently work part time doing architectural design and accredited NatHERS energy assessments and audits.
Refer to the 'skills' tab for an outline of skills and responsibilities.
2023 and beyond - I am an active, busy, fully accredited and up to date architectural design and project management office.
